Sunshine on a Rainy Day

Somewhere up in the sky, cloaked by billowing clouds, the Earth’s patriarch of light abides today. And the July summer battle of rain verses shine continues amidst the fallout of humidity and mosquitos. I was on the verge of raising the white flag and submitting to the little longing for autumn that is suppressed in a corner of mind. When my garden came to the rescue with unspoken words of wisdom. “Do not wish the days away. Find the beauty, find the peace, find the sunshine on a rainy day.”
